The below photo is of the USS Hornet CV8 enroute to Tokyo in April of 1942
carrying the B25 bombers which Doolittle and his fliers used in their raid.
The Benham DD397 was part of the escort for this mission.
Immediately to the left is the USS Gwin DD433 which picked up the survivors
of the Benham later that year when she was sunk by a torpedo off Guadalcanal.
